The Great British Food Revival - the fantastic series that champions some of our best British produce - has been back on our screens this Autumn and on Wednesday 16th November featured our great British blackcurrants...
The hour long programme on BBC 2 got behind beetroot and currants with well know chefs Antonio Carluccio getting passionate for all things beetroot, and Matt Tebbutt campaigning for the host of currants the UK has to offer - redcurrants, white currants, and of course - blackcurrants.
In the blackcurrants section, Matt Tebbutt travelled up to Scotland to meet with Andy and Julie husband and their impressive crop of blackcurrants as well as visiting Dr Derek Stewart, head of Enhancing Crop Productivity and Utilisation at The Hutton Insitute where most scientific research on blackcurrants is conducted.
