When drinking a glass of Ribena, have you ever wondered who grows the British blackcurrants that go into your bottle?

Well, forty skilled blackcurrant growers, based in the beautiful British countryside,are experts in growing and selecting only the best Blackcurrants that give Ribena its unique and delicious taste.

Grown and bred

The Blackcurrant Foundation has been working with many of the growers' families and much of their expertise has been passed down to them from their parents and grandparents - it really is a family business, spanning three generations.

Home grown tastes best

There are around 150 types of blackcurrants across the world but only 10 special varieties are used to give Ribena its distinctive flavour that we all know and love.

Many of these varieties are unique to the Ribena brand and are grown exclusively in the UK where they benefit from the cool summers, ripening slowly to develop their full flavour.
